How to Unlock LG Stylo 4 / 5 MetroPCS Free – LM-Q710MS/LMQ720MS

To unlock a MetroPCS or T-Mobile Stylo 4 /5 we’ve to use the pre-installed device unlock app. I bought a new Stylo 4 from eBay a few months ago and using the below procedure I was able to unlock it without spending a single penny. Try out the procedure it may work for you as well.

Look for the “MetroPCS” folder on your Stylo 4 /5 Homescreen as visible in the first screenshot above.

Open the “MetroPCS” folder and tap “Device Unlock”

Accept the app permission by hitting “ALLOW”

The “device unlock” app says the device is network locked which prevents it from operating with other compatible wireless networks. Let’s try to unlock it.

Select “CONTINUE” to proceed further.

Make sure that you’re connected to the internet via Wifi or Mobile Data.

Now, you’ll see the “Permanent Unlock” option on the screen.

Click on it to start unlocking.

Now, it’s checking whether my phone is eligible for free unlocking or not.

It’s good news! The unlock is approved with the message –

“Unlock Approved: Mobile device is permanently unlocked”. We’ve to Restart the phone to use a SIM card from another carrier.

After the restart, the “Device Unlock” app is gone from the MetroPCS folder as we don’t need it anymore.

The Stylo 4 is permanently unlocked and it’ll never re-lock again.

Now, you can use a SIM card from any GSM carrier worldwide with your Stylo 4 Q710MS/ Stylo 5 Q720MS. You won’t be able to use it on Verizon or Sprint network as they use CDMA technology.

If the above method didn’t work for you then you can purchase the LG Stylo 4 /5 MetroPCS device unlock service. It’ll cost you around $35 which is quite high but the only other way is to wait for 6 months after activating MetroPCS service and then retry to unlock using the above procedure.

Make sure not to buy any unlock code for Stylo 4 / 5 MetroPCS as the only way to unlock a MetroPCS / T-Mobile phone is via device unlock app. Even if you’ll buy an unlock code you cannot enter it anywhere.

If you’ve failed to unlock your phone using the device unlock app you need to buy the LG Stylo 4 /5 T-Mobile App Unlock Service. It a permanent unlock service but quite costly at around $30-$35.

Similar to MetroPCS, an unlock code can never unlock your Stylo 4 T-Mobile, so don’t waste your money in buying fake unlock codes.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 4/Stylo 4 Plus/Stylo 5 Boost Mobile – Q710AL/Q710PL/LMQ720PS

The drawback of remote unlocking service is that it’s not a permanent unlock. In the future, a security update can re-lock your phone. A hardware device such as Octopus Box uses an exploit to unlock the phone temporarily until its fixed in a system update.

How to Unlock LG Stylo 4 Plus/ Stylo 5 Plus AT&T – Q710WA / LMQ720AM

LG Stylo 4 Plus / Stylo 5 Plus from AT&T can be unlocked using an unlock code. You have to use AT&T service for at least 2 months on your Q710WA to unlock your device for free.

You can check whether your device is capable of unlocking or not using the official AT&T website att.com/deviceunlock

After getting the unlock code from AT&T enter a non-AT&T SIM in your Q710WA. You’ll be prompted to enter the unlock code. Enter the code correctly and submit it. The device will reboot and it will be unlocked permanently.

After unlocking your Stylo 4 Plus / 5 Plus you can use it with other GSM carriers such as T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Tracfone, etc. You cannot use it with Sprint, Verizon and other CDMA networks.
